DYMO Introduces Label Printing Developers Kit.GREENWICH, CT, 16/09/1999
DYMO Corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of label printers,
today announced the release of the DYMO Label Software Developer's Kit.
Providing OLE, DLL, and DDE interfaces to application developers, the
SDK solves otherwise-complex label printing issues, including bar code
printing, label design, label formatting, and text formatting to fit
specific label sizes.
Printing in Windows is not easy, and the Software Developer's Kit
eliminates label printing challenges that would otherwise consume
excessive time and effort for developers, said David Block, Vice
President of PC Products for DYMO. The Software Developer's Kit makes
embedding customized label printing functions so easy, that it will not
only streamline traditional application development, but also create
completely new applications for label printers.
The Software Developer's Kit supports such popular development platforms
as Visual Basic, C/C++, Access, FoxPro, Power Builder and Delphi.
Designed for use with the DYMO EL40, EL60, and Turbo LabelWriter
printers, as well as the older XL, XL+ and XL Turbo printers, the kit
supports Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000.
Software developers for such applications as contact management,
inventory management, retail store, manufacturing, health clubs, package
shipping, and medical care will benefit from the complex label printing
functions addressed by the Software Developers Kit.
These functions include:
-
Formatting labels with multiple objects and fonts
-
Automatically shrinking text to fit on labels without unwanted line
wrapping or truncating
-
Rotation of text and graphics
-
Automatic POSTNET bar code generation for faster mail delivery
-
Bar code printing of 18 standard bar code formats
-
Fully customizable label design
-
Label Preview
Using SDK functions, users can do everything from printing simple
address or shipping labels to creating a fully WYSIWYG label printing
application.
The Software Developers Kit includes software and sample applications in
C, Visual Basic, Access, Delphi, FoxPro, Power Builder and Delphi.
