"Next-Generation Desktop" Session

DYMO to be Featured at "Next-Generation Desktop" Session During PalmSource Conference
Stamford, CT, 05/02/2002

DYMO label printing Addin for Palm Desktop 4.0 to be highlighted

DYMO® Corporation, a leader in labeling and identification products, announced today that the Palm" Desktop Addin for the DYMO LabelWriter label printers will be highlighted in a session, The Next-generation Desktop, at the upcoming PalmSource® Developer Conference in San Jose, CA.

The DYMO Addin is the first for the Palm Desktop. It allows for address, shipping, media and other label printing, directly to DYMO LabelWriter label Printers. It also includes an address correction feature that corrects any US address against a USPS master database, correcting any errors and adding the zip+4 code. This solution means that Palm Powered" handheld users never leave the Palm Desktop software to complete a labeling need using DYMO LabelWriter label printer products.

"We found that many users of the DYMO LabelWriter label printers also use Palm Powered devices and utilize the Palm Desktop software", said Rick Constantine, Director of Business Development at DYMO. "Being a part of the development of this technology has provided DYMO and our Palm Powered handheld user customers with a seamless labeling solution.

Installation of the Palm Addin occurs when a new LabelWriter printer is installed. The DYMO software automatically detects the Palm Desktop software and prompts the user for installation of the Addin. Once a contact is selected in the address folder, label printing functions can be accessed through the tools menu on the Palm Desktop, launching a DYMO window that allows label selection, address correction and printing.

"DYMO's commitment to developing the Palm Desktop Addin, and their experience integrating DYMO label printer technology with leading business software seemed like a great fit for Palm," said Ken Freeman, product manager, Palm Desktop software. "Their input helped us develop the integration framework and in turn, DYMO is now the first Palm Desktop Addin developer."

During the session at the PalmSource Conference, Palm will be discussing new Addin opportunities and will highlight the DYMO solution to developers as an example.

DYMO has long integrated LabelWriter label printer support into leading business applications like, Microsoft Word®, Outlook®, Act!", Goldmine®, CardScan® and others.

The Palm Desktop Addin is still currently in beta; a full version is expected for release in June 2002. Information on DYMO products, including support for the Palm Desktop is available by visiting DYMO on the web at www.dymo.com.
