David BlockVice President - PC Products, DYMO
As Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of PC Products, David
Block is responsible for guiding much of DYMO's future technological
directions while directing the global development of DYMO's PC Connected
product line and software development efforts.
Mr. Block joined DYMO through the acquisition of CoStar Corporation in
1998 where he was Vice President of Software Development. Prior to
joining CoStar, Mr. Block was president and founder of AddressMate
Software, a software publishing company where he designed and wrote a
highly-regarded product to simplify the mailing of letters.
With nearly 30 years in the microcomputer industry Mr. Block has
authored numerous software applications and served as a hardware and
software design consultant to some of the most well known technology
companies including Symbol Technologies, Borland and Socket
Communications. His broad range of development efforts has ranged from
leading-edge notebook computer designs to spread-spectrum wireless
network devices, word processors and more. His experience on both the
marketing and development sides of technology companies has allowed him
to develop a strong, balanced, user-centered approach to product design.
On a more personal note, in 1996 he organized an award winning website
offering start-to-finish coverage of the grueling, 1200 mile Iditarod
Sled Dog Race from Anchorage to Nome, and, in 1997, traveled the length
of the race by snow-machine and small plane while serving as an on-line
reporter.
Mr. Block was educated at UC Berkeley's School of Engineering.
