Troubleshooting» The label cannot be removed from the labelmaker after the tape has been cut. The label is not properly cut-off. There is glue or dust on the cutter blade. Every time a label is cut, residue from the label's glue remains on the cutter blade. This is a normal phenomenon when the Labelmaker is frequently used. Solution: It is therefore important to regularly clean the cutter blade in the cassette compartment with either: the special brush delivered together with the labelmaker or a cotton bud and a soft solvent (e.g. alcohol). Objects (e.g. a piece of tape,...) obstructing the cutter blade's normal operation. Solution: Take out the cassette and check that there are no objects in front of the cutter blade (e.g. a piece of tape,...) . Remove all strange objects from the cutter blade and push the cassette firmly back into the compartment in order to make sure it fits properly at the bottom of the cassette compartment. If the problem persists, your labelmaker will have to be repaired. Return the faulty labelmaker to your dealer, who will handle the repair procedure from there. WARNING: when cleaning the cutter blade or the cassette compartment, make sure the cutter blade is never touched with any metal object as this might reduce the sharpness of the blade. » When a key is pressed, other information is displayed. When a key is pressed, other information is displayed. E.g. when the character 'A' is pressed a 'Q' is displayed. The language setting of the labelmaker does not correspond with the keyboard lay-out. (e.g. AZERTY in stead of QWERTY). Solution: The labelmaker will have to be modified. Return the faulty labelmaker to your dealer who will handle the repair procedure from there. » When certain keys on the keyboard are pressed, the labelmaker does not react. Do not return any product to DYMO without an RMA #. » When labels are printed, the text is not positioned in the middle of the label, i.e. it is printed either too high or too low. The cassette is incorrectly positioned inside the cassette compartment. Solution: Take out the cassette and check that there are no objects left in the cassette compartment (e.g. a paper clip, a piece of tape,...) . Only for D1000,D1000Plus, D2000, D5000, D5500, LM200, LM300, LP200, LP300: make sure the tape switch is set to the according tape width. DYMO LetraTag). Solution: Remove the unintentional text lines from the label. To check for extra text lines, take a look at the display screen and make sure there are no text lines added. A new line is indicated by a hard return sign: <-' E.g. <-' <-' DYMO in the display, will result in the following label: ______________ ____DYMO_____ If the problem persists, your labelmaker will have to be repaired. Return the faulty labelmaker to your dealer, who will handle the repair procedure from there. » White horizontal lines run through the printed text. Due to heavy use, parts of the print head may get dirty and need cleaning. Solution: Clean the print head with: the special brush delivered together with the labelmaker or a cotton bud and a soft solvent (e.g. alcohol). The problem is caused by the cassette. Solution: Replace the cassette by a new one. If the problem persists, your labelmaker will have to be repaired. The contrast level is too low (not for D5000, D6000, D9000 and PC-10). Solution: Increase the contrast level. Return the faulty labelmaker to your dealer, who will handle the repair procedure from there. » The ink ribbon sticks to the label and comes out of the labelmaker The tape has not been used for a while. Solution: 1. Take out the cassette and pull the tape 10 cm out of the cassette. 2. Wind the ink ribbon somewhat further by turning the black spool in the cassette clockwise until the ribbon is taut and flat. 3. Reinsert the cassette and print an empty label. 2. Possible Cause: The internal Tape size switch is set to 6mm or the unit does not recognize the position of the switch. Solution: Set the tape switch, which is inside the cassette compartment according to the width of the tape used. If this does not solve the problem, turn the Label Maker power off, then slide the switch back and forth several times, select the proper tape size again, turn the unit power on and try printing. If this does not resolve the problem, please contact DYMO Support. » Printer driver properties or some dialog boxes are displayed in Swedish Possible Cause(s): During the installation the correct language directory on the CD-ROM was not chosen. Therefore the installation program copies files from the last directory on the CD-ROM, i.e. the Swedish directory. Solution: Prepare to reinstall Copy the directory in your language from the CD-ROM (e.g. D:) to the computer's hard disk (e.g. C:). E.g. copy the folder D:\English to C:\ On your C: drive, there is now a folder C:\English Uninstall the incorrect driver Run the file LWRemove.exe and follow the online instructions. International Characters The labelmaker supports the extended Latin character set using RACE technology. Similar to using a mobile phone keypad, if you press a letter multiple times within a very short time, you will scroll through variations of that letter.
