DYMO Announces New Global Marketing OrganizationStamford, Conn., 10/29/2004
Having grown out of the entrepreneurial spirit, DYMO, the leading
producer of label makers, is continuously looking for opportunities to
expand its product offerings and enhance its organization. To that end
DYMO has reorganized the way it markets its products to end-users.
DYMO, a brand of Esselte Corporation, the leading office supplies
manufacturer, has consolidated its North American and European marketing
units into one global team under
Cees Martens, vice president,
global marketing. Martens was previously vice president, marketing for
DYMO Europe.
DYMO marketing now consists of four global product categories,
LabelWriter, headed by
Benjamin Vandorpe; professional products
under the responsibility of
Bernard Vercruysse;
Rick
Constantine will be responsible for the consumer business; while
Claudia Lanz will lead the binding & lamination unit. Binding and
lamination is a new product category for DYMO, it was previously split
between Esselte’s Leitz and Xyron businesses.
Additionally, DYMO created the position of brand director, whose
responsibilities include all brand creative, brand promotions,
packaging, brand website launches and maintenance, etc. Newcomer
Chris Pieterse holds this position.
“The reason for this consolidation is simple; we were looking to bring
consistency to our image. We are now exploring ways to have the same
look and feel, across the globe to our web sites, packaging, point of
sale material, logos, presentations and how we go to market.,” said
Phil Damiano, president of DYMO.
”We believe that with this approach we will have more focus on strategic
category management as well as a professional planning and execution of
trade support and end-user marketing through our brand management. It
will secure a consistent global product range targeted at the right
end-users and create a consistent brand image for DYMO around the
globe,” said Martens.
