Bon à savoir

  • In most cases, problems are solved by checking these 3 basics:

    1. Are the correct batteries being used?
    - Batteries might be low
    - it is advised to use only Duracell Alkaline batteries with DYMO machines
    - DYMO machines will not work with Carbon type batteries
    - All batteries used in the machine should be of the same brand
    - Old batteries should not be used in combination with new batteries

    2. Is the print head clean?
Clean the print head with the special brush delivered together with the labelmaker or a cotton bud and a soft solvent (e.g. alcohol).

    3. Is the cassette correctly positioned?
Push the cassette firmly into the compartment in order to make sure it fits at the bottom of the cassette compartment.
  • General How To
    • Where to find serial numbers?

The serial number is printed on a white label. This label can be found in either the cassette compartment or in the battery compartment.

    • How many tapes can be printed with a full battery pack ?

Approximately 11 cassettes of 7 meter can be printed.

    • How long will a fully charged battery pack last?

      1. A fully charged battery pack will allow to print approximately 11 cassettes of 7 meter tape each in normal printing mode. Printing logo’s or extra large characters increases the energy consumption and reduces the number of cassettes that can be printed.

      2. Testing has shown that it takes approximately 1 hour of continuous “heavy” printing before a battery pack is completely empty and will need to be recharged. Heavy printing = Big font, extended text size, etc. …

      3. When fully charged and the printer is turned off, it takes 250 days before the battery pack is empty.

      4. If handled properly, DYMO guarantees the battery pack 5 years against leakage and charging 500 times from completely empty to completely full.

    • A print job with data from the memory was running when the cassette has run out of tape. When inserting a new cassette, will the labelprinter automatically continue from where it stopped?

No, unfortunately not. After inserting a new tape cassette, printing will need to be restarted and the labels that still need to be printed, have to be re-selected.

  • How to print ...?
    • How to print international characters like e.g. à á â ã ä å ?

      International Characters

The labelmaker supports the extended Latin character set using RACE technology. Similar to using a mobile phone keypad, if you press a letter multiple times within a very short time, you will scroll through variations of that letter.

For example, if you repeatedly press the letter a, you will see a à á â ã ä å and so on through all the variations available. The order in which the character variations appear depends on the language you have chosen to use.

      Currency symbols

The currency key ee also uses RACE to scroll through a number of currency symbols: € £ $

The order these symbols appear depends on the keyboard version and language you have selected.

    • Can I print a 24-port patchpanel label but with the data between each port separated by a vertical line?

Yes, instead of using the mode ‘patch panel marking’ use the mode ‘Module marking’.

      1. Enter the length of the smallest port (= pitch distance ), e.g. 12mm.
      2. Enter the number of ports, e.g 24.
      3. Enter the total length of each individual port (= the length of the smallest port times a factor X) which is in this example the same as the pitch distance.
      First port : X=1
      Second port: X=1
      ...
      4. Enter the data for each port
      5. Print the label
