INFORMATION
Important: to successfully install the
LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT, the accompanying software and the necessary
drivers, you will need to have sufficient access rights (e.g.
administrator rights) on this network. Since each network configuration
is unique we advise you to check this with the network administrator
prior to installing the software.
A. Connecting the
LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT
1. Connect the LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT to the PC on a free USB port
and make sure the power is turned on.
2. Complete the installation
procedure for the software.
The software will also install and detect
the LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT.
The LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT will
be installed locally, on your PC only.
B. Configuring the LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT as a network printer
To
configure the LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT as a network printer
1. On the Windows taskbar, click the Start button, point to Settings,
then click Printers.
The Printers dialog box is
displayed.
2. Right-click on the LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT icon and
click on Sharing.
The Properties dialog box is
displayed.
3. Select the Shared check box and fill in a name
in the Share Name box.
4. Click the Security Tab.
5.
Click Add to add the persons you want give access to your
LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT printer. When the names have been selected,
click Add and click OK.
6. Click OK.
The
LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT printer is now shared as a network printer.
C. How to print from other PC's to the LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT
Important:
If
the LabelMANAGER Software will also be installed on this PC, you should
click Cancel when the Program will now install the Printer
Drivers pop-up window appears during the installation of the software.
To
print to a shared LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT, you should add the
LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT printer driver as follows:
1. On the Windows taskbar, click the Start button, point to Settings,
then click Printers.
The Printers window is displayed.
2.
Double-click the Add Printer icon.
The Add Printer Wizard is
started.
3. Click Next.
4. Select Network printer
and click Next.
5. Enter the Network path or queue name
or browse to destination path, then click OK and click Next.
6.
Click Finish.
The printer is installed and a printer icon is
added to the Printers window.
Tip:
To see if the installation was successful,
1. Right-click the LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT icon and select Properties...
in the shortcut menu.
2. On the General tab, click Print
Test Page.

'normal' printer?
Yes, the LabelMANAGER or LabelPOINT behaves as a

Important:

Set the DYMO Labelmaker as default printer
1. On the Windows
taskbar, click the Start button, point to Settings, then click Printers.
The
Printers page is displayed.
2. Right-click the DYMO LabelMaker icon
and click Set as default.
To Print from Excel to the labelmaker
1.
On the Windows taskbar, click the Start button, point to Programs, then
click Microsoft Excel.
The program is started.
2. On the File
menu, click Page Setup...
The Page Setup dialog box is displayed.
3.
Choose either Landscape or Portrait in the Orientation option Choose the
correct label size out of the dropdown list in the Paper size option.
4.
Click the Margins tab and set following margins to zero: top, bottom,
left and right.
5. Click OK
6. The labelsizes are indicated on the
worksheet by dashed lines.
Data can now be entered on the labels
and the labels can be printed to the labelmaker.
Set the DYMO Labelmaker as default printer
1. On the

Printers.

LabelMaker icon and click Set as default.
To Print from Word
to the labelmaker
1. On the Windows taskbar, click the Start
button, point to Programs, then click Microsoft Word.
The program is
started.
2. On the File menu, click Page Setup...
The Page Setup
dialog box is displayed.
3. Click the Paper Size tab and choose
either Landscape or Portrait in the Orientation option Choose the
correct label size out of the dropdown list in the Paper size option.
4.
Click the Margins tab and set following margins to zero: top, bottom,
left and right.
5. Click
OK
6. Click Fix
7. Click OK
The
labelsizes are indicated on the worksheet .
Data can now be entered
on the labels and the labels can be printed to the Labelmaker.
The serial number is printed on a white label. This label can be found in either the cassette compartment or in the battery compartment.
If the tape was glued unto a delicate surface (e.g. painted or
enamelled), the customer can use the following products :

isoprophyl alcohol
- isoprophanol
- desinfectant alcohol
Otherwise, the customer can also use :
- white spirit
-
ethylacetaat
- acetone
- nail polish remover
The LabelManagers and LabelPoints are designed to print 250 D1-7m cassettes, no matter what tape width or data (barcode, characters, symbols,...) the label may contain.
