Refilling is not necessary because the LetraTag prints on direct thermal
tape.
The same technique is used by a fax machine printing on direct thermal
paper rolls.
The shortest label (e.g. an empty label) is approximately 23 mm long.
Shorter is not possible, in order to allow the user to easily take the
label from the tape exit.
The longest label can be achieved with a full buffer of characters (70
characters is the maximum) and with the widest character size. This will
result in a label with an approximate length of 50 cm.
The serial number is printed on a white label. This label can be found in either the cassette compartment or in the battery compartment.
The iron-on material is no direct thermal material, so the cassette also contains a carbon roll. The iron-on label is the only LetraTag label that works in this way. Due to the direct thermal transfer principe, the labels will not turn black when you iron them.
The font is a custom made bitmap font that guarantees the highest legibility on DYMO labels. The font is comparable with the PC font 'Carinthium Medium'.
