Good to know

    Troubleshooting
    • General
      • There appear no images on the display.

        POSSIBLE CAUSE

        1. The power is switched off

        SOLUTION

Turn on the scale by pressing the power button at the front side of the scale.

        POSSIBLE CAUSE

        2. There is a defect in the power supply

        SOLUTION

Check the power adapter, the spiral cable, the USB cable and the batteries:

        a) Power adapter

        - Check whether the adapter is firmly plugged in, both at the back of the scale as well as into an electric point.

        - Check whether the cable of the adapter is not damaged.

        b) Spiral cable

        - Check whether the spiral cable, i.e. the cable that connects the scale with the detachable display, is not damaged.

        c) USB cable

        - Check whether the USB cable is firmly plugged in, both at the back of the scale as well as in the USB port of the pc or the USB hub.

        - Check whether the USB cable is not damaged.

        d) Batteries

        - Batteries might be low, try replacing them. The batteries can easily be replaced by sliding the battery compartment cover at the back of the postal scale.

        - Check whether the correct batteries are being used. Do not exceed the maximum of 4.5 volt when purchasing the batteries. The postal scale requires three AAA batteries. Take notice of the position of the batteries: the negative pole should be placed there where the spring is. Insert the batteries horizontally.

        - It is advised to only use Duracell Alkaline batteries with DYMO machines

        - DYMO machines will not work with Carbon type batteries

        - All batteries used in the machine should be of the same brand

        - Old batteries should not be used in combination with new batteries

      • LO appears on the display.

        POSSIBLE CAUSE

This means your battery is low.

        SOLUTION

Replace your batteries. This can be done easily by sliding the battery compartment cover at the back of the postal scale. Check the power supply.

      • The number on the display is negative.

        POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)

A tare value is displayed as a negative number when the items are removed from the scale.

        SOLUTION

Press the tare/zero button to reset the scale value to zero.

      • 00000 appears on the display.

        POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)

This means that the item on the scale platform exceeds the maximum capacity of the scale.

        SOLUTION

Remove the item immediately to prevent damage to the scale.

      • Display reads 0.0 or 0.00 when an item is placed on the platform of the scale.

        POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)

        1. The tare/zero button was pressed while an item was on the scale.

        2. The power to the scale was disconnected or turned off and then on again with an item on the scale.

        SOLUTION

In both cases, remove the item from the platform and press the tare/zero button to return the display to 0.0 or 0.00.

      • My scale won’t turn on.

        POSSIBLE CAUSE

There seems to be a problem with the power supply.

        SOLUTION

Check battery and/or adapter. Is the battery new and fully charged? Is it making correct contact with the leads in the battery compartment? Is the adapter plugged in? Is it plugged in correctly to the scale and to the wall socket? You might have to try replugging and reconnecting to the scale. Make sure the wall socket has power by plugging in another item. If condition persists, have end user unplug the scale and let it sit idle and unplugged for 10 minutes, and then reconnect to power supply.
