Important Notes:

This version of software does not support Windows 95 or NT.

Add in
This software includes Add in's for:
- Outlook: the Outlook Add-In works with Outlook 97, 98, 2000, XP, and 2003.
The Outlook Add-In does not work with Microsoft Outlook Express.
- Word: the add-in works with Microsoft Word 97, 2000, XP, and 2003 for Windows and Microsoft Word XP and 2004 for Macintosh.
- Palm Desktop: The add-in works with all versions up till 4.1.4

Download and install instructions:
After downloading one of the files, unzip the file to a location.
Double-click the file install.exe and follow the online instructions.

Important notice when upgrading to or reinstalling DYMO Label Software v4.3 or 6.x
Always uninstall previous versions of DLS
Important: When reinstalling or upgrading, the Label Files folder is replaced. Your own customized labels, stored in the Label Files folder (default is ..:\Program Files\DYMO Label\Label Files\), will be deleted.

To save your customized labels
1. Copy these label files from the Label Files folder to a temporary folder.
2. After uninstalling and reinstalling DLS, move the labels files from the temporary folder back into the Label Files folder.

Requirements
DLS v6.1 requires Mac OS 10.2.8 or 10.3. Make sure that you are running the latest version of these Mac OS that's available for your computer.
For OS X 10.2 (Jaguar), please be sure to update your OS to 10.2.8.

Installation
The installation program will copy all of the application and driver files needed to use a LabelWriter. When the installer has finished, it will start the Print Center utility. You will need to add your LabelWriter.

DLS 6.1 requires that you have 'Administrator' level permissions. You MUST be able to modify files in the System folder of your Macintosh in order to be able to install and configure a LabelWriter printer.

DLS 6.1 supports the following printer models:

NOTE:

This SDK requires that the DLS v6.0 (or later) software be installed on the same machine. It also requires that a full install of DLS, including all template groups, be present.

Here is a list of major features in the DLS 6 SDK:

1. OLE Automation, DLL calls and DDE API's are now supported.

2. Provides two levels of control; high-level control (for working with existing label designs), and low-level control (for creating label designs on the fly).

3. Advanced text handling, including Rotation and Shrink to Fit.

4. Fully integrated printer control so you can forget about printer resolutions, margins, custom page sizes, and all the other complexities that combine to complicate printing from Windows.

5. Support for additional bar code formats (EAN-128 and ITF-14).

6. Includes sample code for each of the following languages:

A copy of the SDK reference manual document (called "DLS 4 SDK Documentation.doc") will be placed in the root level of the destination directory that you choose. A shortcut to this file will also be placed in your Start Menu. In order to gain an understanding of what the different types of integration are, what they can accomplish, and which is most appropriate for your needs, you should begin by reviewing this document.

IMPORTANT DISTRIBUTION NOTE:
Some versions of the DLS software do not ship with the LServer.dll. This DLL is included as part of the SDK, and is only needed if you will be using the LOW-LEVEL OLE interfaces to the SDK. Should this be the case, you will need to distribute the LServer.dll with your application and register the LServer.dll as an OLE server. This can be done using the RegSvr32.EXE that is included on most Windows systems.

When installing the LServer.DLL, it must be copied to the DLS 7.2.4 program directory. This directory can be located in the registry under the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Dymo-CoStar\LabelWriter with the name "InstallPath"
