External Power Adapter Replacement Program

Dear Valued Customer:

This notice is sent to you in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. DYMO is announcing the availability of a free External Power Adapter Replacement Kit for specific DYMO LabelWriter 400 series thermal label printers. The models affected include:

• DYMO LabelWriter 400
• DYMO LabelWriter 400 Turbo
• DYMO LabelWriter Twin Turbo
• DYMO LabelWriter Duo
• DYMO Desktop Mailing Solution

The products that may be affected were shipped after September 1, 2007. In some cases, a manufacturing defect within the external power adapter may cause it to fail creating a possible power surge to be sent to the DYMO LabelWriter printer. This can result in overheating the printer and creating a possible burn hazard.

To help identify if this issue affects your LabelWriter 400 series power adapter we ask that you follow the steps outlined below carefully.

To determine if you need to take action

1. Look at the label on the back of the power adapter connected to your LabelWriter printer’s power cord.
2. If the label displays the RoHS symbol in the upper right corner as shown, your power adapter is not affected and you do not need to do anything further.
   
3. If the label does not display the RoHS symbol, look at the date code stamped into the plastic just below the label.

5. If your date code is not one of those listed above, no action is necessary. Your printer power adapter is not affected.
